At FatFace, we care about our social and environmental footprint, as well as the relationships we build with key stakeholders. This approach is embedded in our culture and guides our attitude to sourcing the highest quality products and ensuring we do so in a responsible manner.
We create and source our products from over 150 trusted and well integrated sourcing partners from over 10 countries globally. Our approach to sourcing reflects the requirements and core principles of the FatFace brand, and since selling our first t-shirt, we have built strong relationships with our sourcing partners, many of whom have worked with FatFace for 10 years or more. Our ability to ensure continued quality is dependent on working with these established suppliers that fully understand our values and expectations.
The steps below outline the approach we take to building trustworthy and long lasting relationships with our suppliers’. These enable us to positively contribute to the working conditions and environment stewardship with our supply chain.
The ‘FatFace Way of Life’ is a robust supplier code of conduct we have developed, as a way of sharing our values, social and environmental expectations with our suppliers. This code is based on the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) base code and SMETA environmental guidelines. All of our product suppliers are required to sign a declaration committing to the principles of ‘The FatFace Way of Life’.
In order to fully verify that our suppliers meet our expectations, we regularly review performance against our Code of Conduct using a combination of audit and non-audit based tools. All of our suppliers are expected to undergo an independent 3rd party social and environmental audit assessment.
We review each and every audit assessment and work with our suppliers to develop time-bound remediation plans where we feel that improvement is needed to meet our expectations.
In order to better understand and support continuous improvements with our suppliers, we have launched a FatFace specific verification assessment. Conducted by a member of FatFace staff, this assessment is aimed at supporting factories over time to meet and exceed the expectations of our code of conduct, moving beyond the traditional audit approach.
